The distillery
How we began
The distillery was founded on 3rd December, 2015, by Santiago Mignone and Carlos Mignone with the aim of producing an exclusive single malt whisky according to the norms of the Scotch Whisky Association (SWA). In 2016 the obtained the license to operate as a distillery of single malt whisky.
Where we are
The distillery is situated in the semi-rural area in the district of Luján, Buenos Aires province, in the heart of the “Pampa Húmeda”. The distillery is a family business, the production being under the direction of Carlos, whilst Santiago deals with administration and marketing.
Production
The production process is carried out in facilities designed and built under the supervision of Carlos. The stills are made entirely of copper and were soldered with copper too. These were made following our own design in 2015 and 2016. All the other equipment is made of stainless steel.
The production was done using Distilling Barley Malt and Heavily Peated Malt from Scotland, which, added to the quality of our water, the mashing time, fermentation and distillation, as well as the quality of the barrels, results in a Single Malt of superior quality.
